HAPPY EARTH MONTH!

See what The Sullivan Company is doing this month and every month to lessen our environmental impact.

REDUCE

We are saving paper by utilizing more online ordering and bill paying, both with our clients and with our vendors. We are also working actively to reduce our energy consumption by making sure equipment is properly turned off when not in use and all lights are turned off at night.

REUSE

We always try to reuse cardboard boxes we receive in shipping, but we recycle what is damaged and cannot be reused.

Our screen printers are well-seasoned professionals, but sometimes mistakes are made when printing a t-shirt. We keep the misprints for rags, use them for test fabric for future prints, or use them for ink samples. They also reuse mesh screens, reuse films for all reorders, and stay conscious of their water consumption when cleaning screens.

RECYCLE

We inform new employees of what can and cannot be recycled here at work, and encourage them to recycle as much as possible. We also utilize a paper shredding service to collect all of our sensitive documents and turn them into new paper products.

We encourage employees to use their Sullivan branded drinkware at the watercooler and coffee machine, and use reusable dishes and silverware at lunch. But when people bring in one-time-use plastic drink bottles, there are plenty of recycling bins throughout the office.

We donate old samples and large runs of misprinted apparel to local and global charities who use them to help the less fortunate. Some of our favorites are The Columbus Dream Center and Lifeline Christian Ministries.

USING SUSTAINABLE CLOTHING

We work with vendors that are ahead of the trend in manufacturing sustainable clothing. Econcious is one of our vendors making the biggest difference by not only making durable and stylish clothing, but using only 100% organic cotton and recycled polyester to make them. We also love working with brands like Bayside and US Blanks because they are committed to making high-quality clothing right here in America.

GREEN SPOT CERTIFICATION

We are a Columbus GreenSpot business, which means we have made various water, transportation, energy, and RR&R commitments for the coming year. This certification will help us keep track of commitments and keep us accountable.

We are always looking for more ways to reduce our corporate carbon footprint, so please let us know if you have any tips for us!
