Today, we are sharing our first Client Spotlight of 2018, Captiv Co! Captiv is a company that crafts wooden lens caps for cameras out of re-claimed lumber right here in Columbus Ohio. Captiv was born when Tyler Willis, CEO/Founder, was hiking and photographing the Grand Canyon and had the questions, "Why are all lens caps black and plastic? How can they be designed better?" We sat down with Tyler to talk about Captiv's mission.
"Our mission statement, Go Against The Grain, has encouraged us to go above and beyond the norms to reach and connect with customers. For example, we have our personal phone numbers on our website where people can text us for help or questions. At first people warned us and thought it might be weird, but adding this human element to the site has proven to be very beneficial for us; the customers like it!"
This past summer, Captiv became a Sullivan customer, and has continued to grow by offering screen printed apparel to their customers.
"This summer, we got our first tri-blend t-shirts from The Sullivan Company and they were a big hit! Our customers loved how soft the tee's were with the vintage print and enjoyed sporting them. It has helped us grow by expanded brand awareness and is a chance for those who don't own a camera to support us."
Thanks Tyler! Make sure to shop local and check out Captiv Co online and on Instagram.
